About Academic Computing Technologies (ACT)
Based in Building 500, Room 517, ACT supports the college’s diverse community of faculty, students, and staff.
Customer Support Services
Customer Support Services oversees FCNet accounts, some computer labs, Cisco phones, and software installation requests. The team coordinates the ACT Help Desk, staffs the open-access computer lounge (Room 513), and ensures instructional software compliance. They also provide staff training, certain technical consultations, campus security system support, and mixed licensing verification for campus-wide software.
Desktop Services
Desktop Services handles the specification, installation, configuration, and maintenance of campus computers and media equipment. The team tracks inventory, supports requisitions, and prioritizes service requests to keep Fullerton College’s technology running smoothly.
Software Development
Software Development collaborates with campus units to deliver cost-effective enterprise solutions for instructional and administrative needs. They manage systems like web hosting, cloud services, collaboration tools, and databases, while serving as the liaison to the NOCCCD District Information Services for data integration. Consultative and training services are also provided.
